Instructions for Abstract Preparation
All abstracts should be in English and the text should not exceed 300 words. The presenting author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract before submission. Submit in Word format, font size 12, Calibri or similar font
Title: capitalize the first letter of the title and of genus and place names as appropriate
Authors and affiliation: Initial(s) of first name(s), the last name of each author, followed by their affiliation(s). Indicate the author who will be presenting at the Workshop by an asterisk following the author’s last name.
Body of the abstract: should contain a brief introduction, a statement of the objectives or purpose of the research, a brief explanation of the methods or approaches used, the key results of the research and a brief conclusion that puts the research findings into context. The body of the abstract should be typed as a single paragraph and must contain complete sentences with correct grammar and spelling. It should not contain references.
** The majority of submitted abstracts will be presented as posters. Each poster presenter will have the opportunity to present his/her research in a 2-3 minute flash talk to all participants.
The number of openings for oral presentations is limited, and many of these will be filled with invited speakers. This is consistent with the history of the PGPR WORKSHOP, which is different from a “symposium” or “annual meeting” where there are large numbers of oral presentations. We strive to have a format where one-on-one and small group meetings and discussions can occur.
The poster sessions are an essential part of this, and authors of posters have considerably more opportunities for feedback and interaction than do the invited oral presenters. All abstracts will be accepted as posters at this time. We will decide on oral presentations in early May, once we have received all submissions.
